To create a shallow depth of field for the sea shells, I used an F /4.5 stop, and I used florescent white balance. For a large depth of field, I used 32 for an F stop, and I used florescent white balance and ISO 800.
I believe the shallow depth of field looks much better. I like the different levels of focus. A large depth of field would be better for school pictures or group photos or a landscape where you don't have a focus object.
